• It seems a shame that this might be a last visit to Nether Woodsmoor and Kate and Alex. I am hopeful that it won't be.
  
  When you find a series that carries you to places as interesting and charming as Nether Woodsmoor (in spite of all the murders involved) and you become invested in the lives of the characters, you find it hard to put the books down .. kind of like having only one piece of dark chocolate.
  
  I guess I will have to explore another of Sara Rosett's series and meet some of her other characters ... looking forward to it.
  
  Thank you, Sara, for being an exceptional writer who draws you into the story from the very beginning and keeps you riveted til the very end.
• The author was able to bring humor, character development and mystery into a situation that could have been cliche. Divorced parents at a wedding, silly mothers,a mysterious stranger, and untrustworthy employees were all woven into a quick murder situation that was neatly wrapped up before the honeymoon. Readers were kept guessing but all wrapped up to a good solution. I appreciated that the characters and the police were working together, each doing what they could do to puzzle things out, No silly heroine trying to outdo a stupid policeman here to solve a case that would not hold up in court because the evidence was so compromised. (pet peeve of mine)

• I really love these books. This installment was actually one of my favorites. Alex and Kate are getting married and we get to meet their families because of it. An uninvited guest at the wedding ends up dead and Kate's parents are suspects in the murder, so they are helping the investigation along (of course!) The writing was great (as usual) and the story was good. There wasn't as much Jane Austen influence as usual, but there were lots of nods to mystery writers. I loved reading in the "Story Behind the Story" that Kate's parents were a modern-day interpretation of Mr. and Mrs. Bennett from Pride and Prejudice. Once I read that, I saw it very clearly and admired what a clever device that was. Highly recommend this book and the whole series. I've not been disappointed by any of them.
• I enjoy Sara Rosset a great deal. Her stories are fun to read, with challenging plots and quirky characters. The settings are always lush.
  
  I think I have reached my limit on shallow , selfish, demanding characters. I do not understand why anyone, in books or real life , puts up with them. The mother of the bride is shallow, predictable, and boring. Please let her stay home in the future.
  
  She also muddied the plot. Just not my favorite from the author.
• I enjoy English murder mysteries, both present-day and historical. This is a nice series of Americans working in the English countryside who become involved in murder mysteries. Ms. Rosett writes good descriptive prose to develop characters and locations, without being too wordy. The solutions are "twisty". I look forward to more in the series!
• When Kate and Alex get married they have a traditional English wedding and reception at the Parkview estate. What they didn't count on was a body being found in the Maze! When it is discovered that Kate's mom knew the victim the newlyweds must solve the mystery so that they can have a proper honeymoon trip!
• Wish I could give more stars! I love this series to begin with, but think this may be the best yet in the series. Interesting and well developed murder plot, as always. But the fun was the addition of the parents - so so funny. Just as with the first time I read Pride and Prejudice, when I finished this book, I immediately went right back to the beginning to enjoy it all over again! I think even Jane herself might get a kick out of this one.

• This book made me think about and reconsider the question is human nature fundamentally selfish or altruistic, questions about nature vs. nurture, and the idea of emergent properties. I appreciated how the new ideas presented were backed up with plenty of supporting evidence from prior observational and research studies. I thought the author did a great job narrating.
• Blueprint is phenomenal, enjoyable, and a must-read for anyone interested in human nature. It's fun to read and accessible to anyone, whether layman or academic. With outstanding breadth and scope, Christakis combines works from evolutionary biology, anthropology, history, medicine, and more (including original research) to create a unified theory that bridges genetics, society and culture, while sending a strong positive message about our future as humans. The audio book, read by the author, is also excellent.
• The book is filled with examples, graphs, images, and explanations that help the reader understand more deeply. On top of this, the style is engaging making it easier to read and even fun.
• another great book by Christakis. If you read and loved Connected as I did, you'll find this book just as insightful and entertaining. Loved the section on shipwrecks. I've met the author in person and he's one of the smartest people I've ever spoken to.
• Great subject .... Well written.
  Academic in structure..
• A rewarding and edifying read for those who are interested in genetics and the evolution of homo sapiens. The author picks up where Darwin left off and expands our understanding of the biological origins of social behavior and culture.

Andreas se réveilla en nage. L’horloge indiquait 4 h 30. Il avait la sensation désagréable d’avoir été tenu en éveil toute la nuit par son cerveau qui générait des images troublantes et angoissantes. Ces rêves pouvaient être d’origine post-traumatique, selon les dires de son psychanalyste. Ces dernières années, il avait vécu une multitude d’événements éprouvants et douloureux qui alimentaient ses cauchemars. Il parvenait à saisir l’origine de la plupart d’entre eux, mais celui qu’il venait de faire restait un mystère. Ce rêve revenait à intervalles réguliers. D’une fois sur l’autre, les détails différaient, de nouveaux éléments apparaissaient. Les oiseaux étaient parfois des aigles blancs, parfois de sinistres corbeaux noirs. Cette nuit, pour la première fois, les volatiles avaient pris un visage humain l’un d’eux avait celui de Mikaël.
Avec le temps, Andreas avait l’impression que son rêve n’était pas seulement une représentation symbolique, mais qu’il renvoyait à un événement bien réel. Son inconscient tentait de faire remonter à la surface ce qui n’était sans doute pas qu’une chimère onirique, mais un souvenir tangible. Depuis que Jessica lui avait révélé son secret, il en était encore plus convaincu.
Andreas entra dans la cabine de douche, régla le mitigeur sur froid. L’eau glacée stimulait son organisme. Il sentait, sous son épiderme, le sang s’activer dans ses veines. La sensation de fatigue et la tension de la nuit disparurent au rythme de l’eau qui s’écoulait sur sa peau. Il ferma ensuite les yeux et leva la tête pour que le jet d’eau se déverse sur son visage. Ses pensées le transportèrent alors trois ans plus tôt. Il avait l’impression de revivre tous les instants de cette journée qui l’avait marqué au fer rouge. C’était le vendredi 5 avril 2013. Il voyait tout comme dans un film.

• I had never heard of Clifford "Spud" Johnson, but he has now earned my respect and gained a new fan for his penmanship. This is one of the best street novels I have ever read. I first looked at the number of pages and thought it would be another long boring meaningless novel. I could have never been more wrong!
  
  The imagination of this writer astounds me. Each and every character (Taz, Keno, Wild Bill, Bo-Pete, Red, Bob, Sacha, Gwen, Clifford, Tari,Tazneema, Won, Heaven and Precious) made this an unforgettable must read novel had a story all their own. This novel has a succession of astounding twists, and turns keeping the reading wanting more. It had highs and lows! It had me not wanting to put it down for fear of missing another twist. This author is masterful in weaving his story with mad flow to his readers. There are no lull points. It has great flow from one phase to the next. And the end was off the chain, making way for Gangsta Twist2 which I am about to immediately start.
• I have to give this a five star rating because the story line was so enjoyable. I couldn't put it down it so interesting. It was a little different then some of the other urban stories I have been reading lately, and I truly enjoyed the change. I won't get into the story line because the previous reviewer said it all. Can't wait until part 2 comes out. Great job keep them coming.
• Excellent book - good from the first page to the last page. The story line is very good charters can be compared to everyday people. Aurthor is a very good writer and I enjoyed reading this book. Treasure Hernandez and him write similar.
• The book is trash, there is writing inside and there were stains on the book as well as someone hair.

• I didn't use it for the first few weeks of the semester, but this weekend when I needed it for writing a brief, I was shocked to discover it is a SCAM edition of the book. Someone has wasted time retyping the Bluebook, except there are mistakes in it that make it unusable. The binding is horribly shoddy, with part of pages unreadable. There are actual mistakes in the book that could lead to an mistakes on a brief. The coloring of the book is completely off, and the bottom line is that this is not an authentic copy. Google "knock off blue books" to see what I mean.
• Truly, I hate the Bluebook. It is the devil's handbook. However, when you need to do the devil's work and cite something 100% correctly in a legal footnote, this will get you there. Its actually easy to use once you learn it.
• This is a really important book to have...but the organization is SO TERRIBLE. It really is organized in the worst way possible. Make sure to buy tabs because you'll need them...it will make your life a lot easier finding things if you tab this book.
• This book is a MUST have for law students, paralegals and attorneys.
  
  You may also want to buy a copy of the book "Mastering the Blue Book" or something similar to help you understand HOW to use this book.
  
  Just remember that between the 18th and 20th edition, a lot has changed.
• It is exactly as it says it is. It is a reference, not a tutorial. It purports to lay out how citations are done, but the examples are so spread out and disconnected, it can only be used as a reference. In my experience, there is NO citation guide that logically lays out citation examples for Federal, State, primary and secondary sources, with step by step instructions. It is left up to the paralegal to painstakingly make notes on how to do citations on their own. If a paralegal were to come up with even a 20 to 50 page guide on writing out commonly used citations with several solid examples for each type, they would make a Lot of money, in my opinion.
• Used this for papers and exams for law school. Sometimes the examples were just perfect. Sometimes not, but it worked out in the end. Tabs for the tables would have been a helpful addition like the color coding of the blue and white pages.
• This book was required for a class. It has all the essential information on the subject, I just don’t like how some of the equations I need for working homework problems are buried in the comments that follow an example. The examples do help with the homework problems, I just personally don’t care for the layout. The book really isn’t terrible, it’s just not my favorite. There are also some supplementary charts and graphs that come separately and are not included in the book, the Heisler chart being one of them. I feel like they could have just included it in the appendix.
• It's a necessity for legal writing. The construction is annoying, the giant plastic spiral ring is low quality and as much as I am flipping through it the pages will inevitably start to work loose from the binding. I usually find an oversized binder clip and clip it to together at the pages I most frequently use. If you are a law student and are reading this - look at checking one out from your library instead of buying a copy. It really isn't worth having your own copy if you are just going to use it for a semester or two. Also, I was not impressed with the shipping speed. Give yourself plenty of time if you are ordering this, at least a week.

• If I could give this zero stars, I would. I love historical fiction and the WW II time period. I had to stop reading it was so bad on so many levels. The dialog was stilted. The characters were unbelievable. There were so many contradictory points through out that I had to stop.
  
  1. Claire's mother tells her not to rescue the Jewish child Lima yet the parents build a bunker in their home for their Jewish neighbors.
  2. The father, an automobile executive, and mother ,who is a doctor in the Jewish hospital, buy food from the black market all the while lamenting the German invaders and what they have done to the French Jews.
  3. A newly married bride suggests to her husband, a German born French sympathist who is forcibly inducted into the German army, that she will search for high level Germans and pursue sexual relationships in order to gather intelligence for the Resistance. And he's okay with it.
  4. The dialog between Claire and Erhlanger was preposterous. "Tell me about your secret maps so I can feel closer to you." If he didn't know he was being played he deserved it. Then all of a sudden he knew what she was doing all along. He was stupid if he didn't know.
  5. When Erhlanger hands over Claire to her next target (I can't even bother to remember his name) and he asks what he gains from their relationship and Claire responds "19 year old flesh". Does the author even know any 19 year olds? Who the heck would respond with this? Not any 19 year old I know.
  6. Esme is tired of being Schloss's prsioner so he sends her on a vacation to Bruges. REALLY!? She was his slave. How was any of this supposed to be believable??? She's a prisoner of war and he sets her up in a hotel so she can have a vacation!!!!!!!
  7. Claire sleeps in Schloss's basement when she becomes his daughters' tutor. Then in the next instant we're told she goes upstairs to her room to pack her few things to move to the hospital.
  8. About 47% into the book Schloss is speaking in the first person then in the next sentence it becomes 3rd person.
  9. And maybe it was me, but all of a sudden Claire and Esme had brothers? Where was this introduced in the beginning? Perhaps I didn't read it carefully enough because I didn't care about it enough.
  
  That was it for me. There is so much good literature out there. This was not worth my time. I'm moving on.
• Unfortunately the premise of the book did not match the reality of reading it. Without doubt but the subject is unquestionably graphic and upsetting but I found the style of writing frustrating. It appeared the book was written in the manner of expanded bullet points and consequently lacked continuity. It is a shame as the story of the central character deserves to be told.
• This is an amazing book and a book everyone should read. It is a book about love, courage, pain,bravery, and death. It is so much more than words can say. If you want intrigue and getting to know amazing and fascinating character then this book This it all. It will bring you to tears and make you wish it would never end. If I could I would give this book ten stars. I can not recommend this The Point of Life high enough. John Ellsworth is a magnetic writer and as the saying goes He can write anything and make you want more. Thank you for writing this beautiful story. JoAnn Brown
• The Point of Light was written by John Ellsworth. The story is loosely based on the life of French photojournalist and Auschwitz survivor Marie-Claude Valliant Couturie. She was a member of the Resistance and was sent to Auschwitz and Ravensbruck. However, Claire, in the book, has gone beyond Marie-Claude in this book.
  Claire Vallant wanted to be a photojournalist for as long as she could remember. She loved taking phtos and was very good at it. Her Father ran the Vallant dealership in Paris and her Mother was a surgeon. She had a younger sister and two younger brothers. Claire was considered the “good” one while Esmee was always getting into trouble. They were raised to do good for others and to be themselves and do what they wanted to do. When the Nazis were threatening Paris, Claire decided she wanted to do something. She ended up joining a resistance group. One member of this group was Remy Schildmann, the son of a German General. She had known Remy since they were in elementary school. She considered him her best friend while he was in love with her. They became reacquainted in the resistance and fell in love. Then, Remy was sent to Germany, by his Father, to join the SS and become the SS officer he was destined to be. He decided to go along with them and work against the Nazis from the inside. However, it did mean he would have to be actively involved in the deportation of Jews. He was leading a raid on the Naussenbaum family. They arrested Mr. and Mrs. Naussenbaum; but Remy hid their sleeping daughter in her amoire. He then called Claire to tell her where Lima was. Claire went to get her and then kept Lima as her own since they didn’t know where any relatives were. In order to keep her safe, Claire and Remy married and adopted Lima. Then Remy’s unit was sent to the front. Claire was left to bring up Lima and to do what she could to stop the Nazi momentum.
  The story continues through collaboration, resistance, arrest, torture, and being sent to Auschwitz and later Ravensbruck. How will Claire and Remy survive the War? Will they stay together afterwards? Will Lima’s parents come back?
  The book is very interesting and keeps your attention through the entire book. You are kept on the edge of your chair not knowing how Claire will get out of tough places and if she and the others will survive. The really weak spot is when Remy begins working to document for war crimes. His sudden dropping from Claire’s life just isn’t realistic.
• I am a huge John Ellsworth fan, pre-ordered this book at the first opportunity, and also had the opportunity to read an advance copy. I am very glad Mr. Ellsworth chose to write this novel.
  
  The subject of the Nazis and the horrors they committed has always been of interest to me, a fascination regarding actions so unspeakable that they seem impossible, by both the criminals and the victims and by those who risked their lives in the resistence. Yet the eye witness accounts left no doubt. This story, loosely based on a real person who testified against Nazi war criminals, reads like such an eye witness account. I could not put it down.
  
  I hope Mr. Ellsworth gives us more like this and maybe even continues on with this story to follow our heroine.

  Ruth had worked for Alex's brother in the past and had an awful experience with some of the men working on his ranch and she vehemently refused the work.
  Alex is intrigued by the fire he see's in Ruth and cannot let go of thoughts about her. When he realizes how he feels,
  fate has stepped in and is about to take Ruth in a new direction! Can he come to terms with this or will he fight for what he truly wants? Will Ruth realize her dreams or find a new one? Don't miss this book.
  Amelia Adams writes from her heart. Her stories and characters will grab you from chapter 1 and hold you right until the end.
  I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
• Not surprisingly, this is an excellent book. I've been with the Kansas Crossroads series from the beginning. I heartily recommend the whole series. I love the story of Ruth and Alex.
  One thing that stood out to me is the continuing theme of Adam Brody's protectiveness of his staff, and his insistence that the waitresses learn to shoot and always carry a gun. You might find something about that in this book. 😁😁
  Amelia spins a wonderful story, even when there is violence and not-so-nice people.
• Another awesome book by this author in her Kansas Crossroads series.
  I really loved this one as it emotional, has some ups and downs and awesome characters.
  There is also some cattle rustling and rancher, ranch hands and a lawyer go off to find the rustlers and one gets shot. Adventure and suitors, one wanted and one not.
  There is so much going on and of course most in the Brody Hotel and all the good food that comes from the kitchen and the guest and towns people alike love eating there.
  This is one of my favorites out of this series that I have read.
  I highly encourage readers to get this book. Ms. Adams is one author everyone seems to love and I can see why. Get this book and all the stories in this series.
• I have bee waiting for Ruth's story. She has seen all of her friends at the hotel find love and get married. She feels maybe she should take a job offer in the city.
  Enter in Alex Barker, brother of Ruth's former boss. He is entranced by Ruth from the start, but she blows him off because of his brother.
  After a few adventures will Alex be able to prove he is not like his brother and win her love? Or will she decide to move on from Topeka?
• I have been looking forward to Ruth’s story! It’s a wonderful well written entertaining story! Well done Amelia Adams! I do enjoy your stories!
• Exciting addition to this series! Loved the twists and turns that abound. Ruth has so many decisions!! Grab it and enjoy!
• Your storytelling and characters brought together several difficult circumstances that ended in the best possible conclusion. Ruth was a very special lady with great traits and abilities. Alex found out items about himself and brother that made him question certain things. But they both found each other and LOVE and Home. Especially enjoyed this book and its conclusion.
• Alex- realator/broker- came to sell Lazy Q to Wade and help his brother buy a new ranch.
  Ruth- was a cook at Lazy Q now a cook at the Hotel
  I enjoyed reading this captivating and touching story that is fantastically written with charismatic characters and dialogue. Though this story has a happy ending but doesn't feel quite complete it needs an epilogue.
